Nutrition – The Fuel
There is absolutely no truer saying than, “You are what you eat”. Unfortunately for the majority of us, you will never see the results you expect with a poor diet. If you’re anything like me, you LOVE food, and so does your body, just not the same kinds. Most people eat by what they see and taste; what they think their bodies want, instead of what they need. While eating what you want may give you short term satisfaction, you’re depriving your body of the long term benefits of eating clean. If you’re anything like my wife, however, you probably eat by the convenience method. Laziness and “easy” eating are her downfall. Why would you bother cooking something when you’re hungry right now? A bag of chips for lunch, or heading up to the drive through is much simpler and quickly satisfying. What’s my advice? Eat your meals as soon as you start getting hungry. Don’t let yourself get so ravenous that you could care less what kind of food you’re stuffing your face with, your body will not thank you for it.
I know what you’re thinking, all of these rules about your beloved cheeseburgers and cookies do not sound fun… But I can guaranty you that if you stick to a well balanced and clean diet, not only will you see the results you’ve been missing, but you will feel much better. Your diet has a huge influence on your day-to-day life, your performance at work, in sports, your energy level, and your mood. This is not a yo-yo or crash diet, it’s not a diet at all.
This is a lifestyle change.
