Who says healthy foods can’t be absolutely delicious?

Credit to my wife for this one. We had no idea what we wanted to eat, so she got creative and just went with what sounded like a good combination. It was amazing. And super easy!

Cook some cut up pieces of chicken, add whatever chopped up veggies your heart desires (Maddy used tomatoes, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, and orange pepper). Add a little drizzle of Zesty Italian dressing to your pan with a sprinkle of whatever seasoning you like, and sauté while your noodles are cooking. Once the noodles are done, drain and pour your zesty chicken & veggie stir-fry to the top of your noodles.

Packing Lunches

Today I thought I would share with you all an awesome chart on an everyday part of life, packing lunches! Not only is it just one of many minor hassles in your day, but they can be frustrating when you don’t know what to pack. I find that a lot of the time, lunch is one of the most difficult meals to keep on track with. There are so many options for a quick fix! So here’s this chart to help you put together a nutritious and well-packed lunch. I have been packing mine like this for years!

Looking for an idea for an easy and delicious dinner idea? My wife makes this at least once a week. A good thing is, there is usually left overs for lunch the next day! Just follow the Sweet & Sour recipe on the back of Minute Brown Rice (pictured)

You can follow it exactly, but my wife likes to put some Western dressing instead of the pineapple. Make sure you don’t put too much dressing though, as it may contain more sugar than you need!

Oatmeal

I know what most of you are thinking, oatmeal is not one of your favorite things to eat. Either by taste or texture, or both, a lot of people do not enjoy it. Well, I am here to share some tips on how I make my oatmeal taste great.

I eat oatmeal for breakfast almost every day. You can make a number of different combinations of things with your oatmeal, however I prefer berries (blueberries, blackberries) or a sliced banana. Not only does it add flavor, but it also adds nutrients! If it’s still not sweet enough for you, I will occasionally add some sugar free syrup, or flavored protein powder.

Oatmeal is one of the best foods for you in the morning. Not only is it low in calories, but it keeps you full for a long time, which is beneficial for dietary purposes. It contains tons of fibre and protein, and strengthens your heart by protecting you from major disease.

Whatever your excuse is for not eating oatmeal, I think the pros out-way the cons! 

Back on Track

As some of you may know, it was my birthday yesterday. Well, it’s safe to say I ate one too many pieces of birthday cake. It’s time to get back on track with spinach flat bread home made pizzas and a date with the wife at the gym!
